New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will change operating hours at dozens of North Texas retailers, government offices and other businesses.
Most government services close early on Tuesday. Dallas libraries, municipal courts and animal services are closed to the public on Wednesday
Most residential trash collection routes are also pushed back a day throughout the region. The same goes for Dallas County and Collin County offices, which are both closed along with state offices, such as the Texas Department of Public Safety’s licensing centers.

Here is a list of stores and their expected hours this holiday week:
H-E-B/Joe V’s: Open regular hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Curbside and home delivery will open at 9 a.m. on New Year’s Day and the pharmacy hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tom Thumb, Albertsons, Market Street: Open regular hours. Pharmacies are closed on New Year’s Day.
Kroger: Open regular hours. Pharmacies will close at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
El Rancho Supermarket: Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
La Michoacana Meat Market: Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
Walmart: New Year’s Eve, closes at 6 p.m.; New Year’s Day, regular hours.
Target: Stores will close at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and will be open for regular hours on Wednesday.
Trader Joe’s: New Year’s Eve, closes at 5 p.m.; New Year’s Day, regular hours.
Sprouts Farmers Market: New Year’s Eve, closes at 8 p.m.; New Year’s Day, regular store hours.
Costco: New Year’s Eve, closes at 6 p.m.; New Year’s Day, closed.
Sam’s Club: Closes at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and remains closed on New Year’s Day.
Whole Foods: Tuesday, closes at 9 p.m.; New Year’s Day, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
WinCo Foods: Regular hours.
Aldi: Stores close at 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and remain closed on New Year’s Day.
Walgreens: New Year’s Eve, most stories open until 5 p.m. New Year’s Day, most stores are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Check here.
