Sprouts Farmers Market, following years of waiting, is weeks away from opening in southern Dallas.
The grocer is set to open the store in Oak Cliff — located at North Hampton Road and Fort Worth Avenue — on June 20, according to its website. The shop will open at 7 a.m. with giveaways to early customers.
The shop will cover approximately 23,000 square feet, according to the company in an emailed statement. “We are looking forward to bringing fresh and better-for-you products to the Dallas community,” it said.
The store has been in the works for about four years as the grocer’s developer first made a zoning request to the city in August 2021. Early on, some residents expressed concerns about environmental and walkability issues. They were addressed, and the City Council approved the store in 2023.
The new store will arrive in a part of the city where locals don’t have access to the kind of food shopping choices that are more prevalent in other parts of Dallas and North Texas in general. For example, Locals who had anticipated a new Tom Thumb at the RedBird area were disappointed to learn last year those plans had been nixed.
The address for the new Sprouts is 1322 N. Hampton Road.
Sprouts, which is based in Arizona, has been adding sites throughout the region. That includes openings in McKinney and Fort Worth last year. The new Oak Cliff site will be the 55th for the chain in Texas, the company said.
