Update:
This event is sold-out.
Downtown Dallas restaurant Fond is hosting a dinner on Thursday, May 22, dedicated to French recipes in an all-new cookbook that has ties to the legendary Julia Child.
Makenna Held has authored a new cookbook called Mostly French: Recipes From a Kitchen in Provence. And Fond plans to bring to life many of the bites.
Held rose to the public eye when she purchased Child’s former summertime residence in southeastern called La Pitchoune sight unseen in 2016. She now runs the Courageous Cooking School from the abode, which features an intensive masterclass that costs $11,000 for a weeklong visit.
But a ticket to the dinner at Fond will only run you $20.
The fee includes a glass of sparkling wine, an amuse bouche and access to a special Provençal-inspired menu. The cost of dinner is separate from the ticketed fee.
