‘Yellowstone’ creator buys 78-year-old Fort Worth steakhouse, plans private club

Cattlemen’s Steak House, which opened in the Stockyards in 1947, is nearing the end of a sweeping multimillion-dollar renovation.

As millions of dollars in renovations near completion at Stockyards stalwart Cattlemen’s Steak House, new ownership has been revealed.

Yellowstone creator and rancher Taylor Sheridan, alongside David Glasser and Dan Schryer, purchased the Fort Worth steakhouse opened in 1947.

The new owners say they plan to stay close to the vision of owners Marti Taylor and Larry Heppe, who purchased the restaurant from founders Jesse and Mozelle Roach. Taylor and Heppe retain partial ownership.

Along with a renovated restaurant space, the new ownership group also announced the addition of a private dining and social club at the venue.

Sweeping renovations to the restaurant will be accompanied by plans to “augment food and wine offerings and the existing team,” a news release stated. New dining, bar and event spaces are ahead, in addition to a more than 20,000-square-foot outdoor patio that will include a stage.

The private dining and social club, expected to open over the summer, will be accessed by way of an exclusive elevator, whisking to a freshly completed space inspired by the American West. of Cattlemen’s Club will receive access to the club; VIP access to the stage performances on the patio; wine, bourbon and spirits tastings; and more. Individual hips are $3,000, with a $1,000 initiation fee. There are corporate hips available too. Interested parties can apply at cattlemensclub.com.
