KDAF-TV CW33 announced the return of CW33’s High School Football Showdown for a sixth straight year.
CW33 will air all games live, starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday nights, and will stream each game on CW33.com.
“High school football in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is a fiercely competitive and deeply rooted tradition, drawing massive crowds and showcasing some of the nation’s top talent,” vice president Marc Hefner said. “CW33 is pleased to be able to present a full live game each week to all viewers in the Dallas/Fort Worth viewing area”.
The broadcast team of Doug Anderson and LaDarrin McLane will be back in the booth, while Chris Mycoskie is ed by Daniel Esteve on the sidelines.
The game coverage will be supplied by JW Productions.
“We’re excited to be back for season six of high school football on CW33,” said Michael Watts, owner of JWProductions. “It’s been amazing to watch these games become a Thursday night staple in DFW. We love bringing the energy, the stories, and the community spirit to fans every week, and we can’t wait for another great season.”
The High School Football Showdown slate kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 28 when defending Class 6A Division I state champion North Crowley takes on Lancaster.
The schedule also includes a two-pack in Week 8. On Thursday, Oct.16, Flower Mound Marcus vs. Denton Guyer will be televised. The next day, a TAPPS showdown between Jason Witten’s Argyle Liberty Christian and Dallas Parish Episcopal will be shown.
There won’t be a game televised in Week 6 as the network listed Oct. 2 as a bye week.
The network will choose games for Oct. 30 and Nov. 6 within 6-12 days of gameday based on district championship and/or playoff race implications.
