The southbound lanes of U.S. 75 were closed Wednesday morning as Dallas police investigated a fatal shooting.
Jonathan Maner, a department spokesman, told The Dallas Morning News officers were dispatched about 9:50 a.m. to a stretch of the highway near Lemmon Avenue.
According to Maner, one person, who was not publicly identified, was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is being investigated as an apparent suicide, Maner said.

Traffic was temporarily diverted to the Haskell Avenue-Blackburn Street/Lemmon Avenue exit before the lanes reopened about noon.
