Funeral services for Ava Moore, who was killed in a jet ski hit-and-run over Memorial Day weekend, are set for Saturday.
The 3:30 p.m. service inside The Met Church in Fort Worth will be private, according to a Grapevine police news release.
“The family has asked for privacy as they grieve the loss of their daughter,” police spokesperson Amanda McNew said.
The U.S. Air Force will conduct full military honors at the end of the funeral outside the church, according to the release.
Moore had recently completed her first year at the U.S Air Force Academy Preparatory School, where she was a part of the basketball team. She was a 2024 graduate of Timber Creek High School.

According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, a witness said the driver of the jet ski, Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez, had made multiple high-speed es close to the shore and swimmers. The witness said she and Moore had attempted to leave the area when Moore was struck from behind.
Moore was pronounced dead while being transported to the hospital.
Grapevine police victim services advocate Mikayla Moore read in a news conference on Wednesday a statement by Ava Moore’s family, expressing gratitude for the they had received from the public.
“This is a difficult time for all involved, but also an opportunity for our beautiful girl to continue to impact our community,” the statement read.
Gonzalez Gonzalez and the man she fled the lake with, Maikel Alexander Coello Perozo, were both arrested on Tuesday. Gonzalez Gonzalez faces a felony manslaughter charge, as well as additional charges such as reckless operation, excessive speed and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. Coello Perozo faces misdemeanor charges such as hindering apprehension and an accident involving damage to a vehicle.
According to Joshua Johnson, the ICE Dallas acting field office director, both suspects had entered the United States illegally and will appear before a judge to decide if they should be deported.
