A man who cut off his ankle monitor and had been on the run since early May was arrested Monday morning, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office said.
Trevor McEuen, 32, had been set to appear in court May 5 to face trial on a murder charge when he cut off his ankle monitor and disappeared, according to authorities.
McEuen was tracked to a residence in Van Zandt County and arrested early Monday, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Authorities are investigating if anyone helped McEuen after he fled, the release said.
He was taken into custody and was transported to the Kaufman County Jail where he is being held on multiple charges including capital murder, five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and arson.
McEuen allegedly shot and killed his neighbor, Aaron Martinez, in 2023 near Forney.
