A teacher was attacked outside a Plano ISD school in Murphy last month, and a man is in custody.
According to a police report, a man approached a staff member outside Boggess Elementary School and began asking her about her job. When the staff member began to walk away, the man grabbed her from behind.
The two struggled, and the staff member bit the attacker’s hand, according to the police report. He fled after the staff member’s school radio went off, taking the radio and the staff member’s cellphone.
Authorities were able to track the cellphone. They arrested Daniel Okungbowa, 31, of Murphy.
Okungbawa was released May 24 after posting a $21,000 bond, on charges of robbery and theft of property greater than or equal to $100, but less than $750.
Okungbawa did not respond to a request to comment.
