9 injured Thursday during shooting in South Dallas, police say

Dallas police are investigating after multiple people were injured, two of them critically, during a shooting in South Dallas on Thursday evening.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of Lenway Street around 8 p.m., according to a police statement.

An unknown number of people shot several individuals at the scene, sending nine to a local hospital, according to police. Two of them were in critical condition as of Thursday night.

An incident report obtained by The Dallas Morning News on Friday shows the victims include seven men and two women. They range in age between 23 and 49.

The report also says an officer saw at the scene a white 2017 Mercedes Benz sedan with bullet holes and blood on it.

It’s not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

Police did not immediately say if they have identified or arrested any suspects in connection with the shooting.
