North Texas can expect sunny and warm weather to begin the weekend before rainstorms move into the area early Sunday morning.
An air quality alert is also in effect for the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to KXAS-TV (NBC5). There will also be some haziness due to smoke from Canadian wildfires pushing through the region.
Temperatures will begin in the low 70s to high 60s Saturday and Sunday before pushing into the high 80s by mid-afternoon.
Storms will form in Oklahoma Saturday night, and are expected to be pushing through North Texas early Sunday morning. According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, these storms will impact North Texas between 5 a.m. and noon. The main threats include possible high winds and small hail.
Scattered to severe storms are expected to impact the Central Texas region Sunday afternoon, with the southern tip of Dallas-Fort Worth included in the forecast area for those storms.
More storms are expected next week. Tuesday through Friday all have rain chances above 20%. High temperatures next week will be in the high 80s to low 90s.
