Saturday’s hot and humid weather will be followed Sunday by a chance of severe thunderstorms.
Temperatures on Saturday will climb to the mid-90s by mid-afternoon, reaching a high of 94 around 5 p.m., according to KXAS-TV (NBC5). Those high temperatures will continue Sunday before a round of rain and possible severe weather rolls into the region late Sunday evening and night.
According to NBC5, there is a chance of thunderstorms Sunday morning. The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office said severe storms are expected to come around 7 p.m. Sunday. An earlier bout of rainstorms is also expected Saturday night north of Dallas-Fort Worth, along the Oklahoma-Texas border.
Threats from the storm include strong winds, up to 1.5-inch hail, spin-up tornadoes and localized flooding, according to the Weather Service.
Rain storms continue all through next week, with scattered showers forecast from Monday through Friday, according to NBC5. High temperatures are expected to be in the mid-to-high 80s.
