The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office advises residents to exercise extra caution when driving through low or poorly draining areas.

The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office advises residents to exercise extra caution when driving through low or poorly draining areas. Water on flooded roads is often deeper than it appears, which is why the weather service frequently cites the slogan “turn around, don’t drown!”

The weather service projected that almost the entire metro area will see over 3.5 inches of water, with the most rainfall expected to the west and southwest of Dallas.
