With some of its key players unavailable, the United States Men’s National Team will try to win its eighth Gold Cup, the biannual Concacaf tournament that will be played from June 14 to July 6.
Gio Reyna (Borussia Dortmund), Weston McKennie, and Tim Weah (Juventus FC) will be with their clubs at the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played concurrently with the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Other notable absences for the USMNT include AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic, Fulham FC defender Antonee Robinson, Yunus Musah (AC Milan), and Josh Sargent (Norwich City FC).
The U.S has won the Gold Cup seven times (1991, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2017, and 2021).
The 18th edition of the Gold Cup will feature 15 Concacaf teams, plus Saudi Arabia as a guest.
For USMNT coach Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, the Gold Cup represents the last official rehearsal before the 2026 World Cup.
The competition will be held in 14 stadiums and 11 metropolitan areas across the United States and Canada.
Four matches will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, including Mexico vs. Suriname on July 18 and the U.S. vs. Haiti on June 22.
The United States squad was seeded alongside Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago and Saudi Arabia in Group D.
