2025 MLB season predictions: Will the Texas Rangers bounce back from a disappointing 2024?

Plus, our experts predict World Series winners, home run leaders, trade deadline moves and more.

After a disappointing 2024 season, Bruce Bochy and the Texas Rangers look set for a comeback in 2025.

The team added Joc Pederson and Jake Burger to a lineup that already had big power from stars Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. Texas will also be getting Wyatt Langford, Josh Jung and Adolis Garcia back to full health, making for an intimidating lineup top to bottom.

Texas re-signed Nathan Eovaldi and get a healthy Jacob DeGrom to anchor the rotation. Tyler Mahle is the other surefire starter, but spring training injuries to Cody Bradford and Jon Gray have created question marks. Prospects Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker are in the running along with veterans Adrian Ho and Patrick Corbin for the final rotation spots.

The Rangers also enter the season with a new-look bullpen anchored by three high-leverage options in Chris Martin, Luke Jackson and Robert Garcia. While there isn’t an established closer on the roster, veteran relief options abound. There’s also a couple prospects who might make noise later in the year.
