Steve Sarkisian has various honors throughout his coaching career. He can now add Dave Campbell’s Texas Football cover star to his list.
The publication revealed Sarkisian as the cover star of its 66th edition Thursday. The main cover shines the spotlight on Sarkisian’s work in rebuilding the Texas Longhorns’ football fortunes over the last four years.
According to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, Sarkisian is the sixth Texas Longhorns coach to grace the magazine’s cover. Past honorees include Tom Herman, Mack Brown, John Mackovic, David McWilliams and Darrell K. Royal.

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s annual magazine has become a tradition for Texas football fans, as it extensively previews all levels of football in the state. Sarkisian isn’t the only individual featured prominently in this year’s magazine.
The magazine’s gatefold cover features Celina football coach Bill Elliott along with star players Bowe Bentley and Luke Biagini. Celina became the fourth team in Texas to win at least nine UIL 11-man state titles in December 2024.
This is the second straight year the Longhorns have been represented on the main cover. Last year’s edition saw quarterback Quinn Ewers standing face-to-face with (former) Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman.
Sarkisian has found success since landing in Austin ahead of the 2021 season. In four years at the helm, he has led Texas to a 38-17 mark and two consecutive College Football Playoff semifinal appearances.
